Ffion and Steven root their practice in the rich history and traditions of plain and decorative plasterwork. Their work encompasses both historic restoration and contemporary design.
UNEARTHED: Material Experiments, Gypsum, Clay & Lime is a playful exploration of traditional plastering materials. Whether used as binders, aggregates or pigments, these three basic materials can be used to create a huge range of plasters with their own unique properties. Works on display are produced from raw and recycled materials.
This exhibition is part of the TALKS AT THE LANE Season 2 which focuses on material; engaging with designers and makers whose practice is concerned with the sustainable use of materials, their practical application and cultural meaning.
