Talks at the Lane is an eclectic and informative series of lectures and conversations around the themes of design and making.

Evolving around seasonal themes, we aim to provide engaging and lively discussions that explore what motivates our speakers to create and the influences behind their practice.

We see no boundaries between the speakers and the audience and would like to invite everyone present to be involved in the dialogue, as much as they wish to be, throughout the evening. In return we make a pledge to provide a little sustenance and a convivial atmosphere to help get the conversation flowing.
We want to provide an open and inclusive platform where there is equality between audience and speaker, between designer and maker and between established and emerging practitioners, across all creative forms. We see these talks as part of an ongoing journey where we can develop our own practice by sharing and learning from each other.

The first theme: The Power of Collaboration celebrates the creative environment and we were delighted to kick off the series with a conversation between Izat Arundell and the extended team behind Porteuous’ Studio. Our second talk of the series will focus on our very own Custom Lane which itself is built on collaboration and will feature Custom Lane/GRA/GRAS Director Gunnar Groves Raines.

We are looking for participants (and event sponsors) for our talk series. If you would like to find out more or would like to get involved get in touch.
