Nineteen leading designer/makers showcase their work this December

Custom Lane is thrilled to host its inaugural exhibition of the work of residents and collaborators over the festive period and into the new year—with some contributors providing pieces for immediate purchase.

Showcasing the projects of nineteen designer or makers based at Custom Lane or working closely with the Custom Lane community, Working Title is a diverse exhibition, featuring emerging and established contemporary practitioners across the mediums of furniture, product design, jewellery, ceramics, glass, photography and print.

Custom Lane is proud to be a space in which makers in all media can not only collaborate with others working in different genres, but also a place where they can progress on their own creative journey with influence from those around them.

To celebrate this continuing creative journey, Working Title is thus named to highlight the ongoing nature of our maker’s processes. Each piece is a captured moment in what will be a lifelong journey for each individual. Each piece, in essence, celebrate a unique moment in time.

The show is named Working Title in reference to the fact that, rather than being the output of a finite creative process, each work on display is a crystallised moment in these designers’ ongoing progression.

In addition to the Working Title exhibition, several of our residents will be introducing their work or producing new pieces throughout December.

On December 13th, interior designer Jaco Justice, of Ja!Coco! Maximal Design Studio, and glass artist Juli Bolaños-Durnam will discuss their collaborations, past, present and future at a free event hosted at Custom Lane.
