Trading Post returns to Leith for Christmas, and this year it fills both our buildings.
Custom Lane is home to the makers. Their ceramics, jewellery, scent and knitwear are on the tables, and the people who made them are behind them. A short walk away, Brown’s of Leith gathers the food and drink, from fresh bread and cheese to whisky and cocktails, with a DJ playing through the afternoon.
Most of the traders make, bake or brew within a few miles of Leith, so much of what you take home will have been made just down the road. It’s a chance to do your Christmas shopping with the people who made it.
Trading Post is put together by Custom Lane and our friends at Rogue Village.
At Custom Lane
The ceramics come from Aku Ceramics, Studio Sian Patterson, Joshua Williams and Celia Wood. Ruth Leslie, Honor Dodd Design and Akvile Su bring jewellery. Dook, Early Modern and Druid Edinburgh cover scent and wellbeing, and Ryvoan Knit brings knitwear. Solas Neon and The Gathering Hand trade in objects, and Ploterre shows art.
At Brown’s of Leith
Maple Leaf Bakery brings the baked goods. The drinks come from Newbarns Brewery, Whitebox Cocktails, Electric Spirit Co, Aipple and Woven. Free Company, Mellis, East Coast Cured, Chocolatia, Juno Preserves and Hott Sauces stock the larder, from cheese and cured meats to chocolate, preserves and hot sauce. Argonaut, Pyrus Botanicals and East Coast Print Club bring books, botanicals and print.

Custom Lane address is 1 Customs Wharf, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 6AL. Brown’s of Leith is at 4-6 Shore, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 6QS, a short walk away. The nearest tram stop is The Shore, and buses 16 and 35 stop nearby. Both buildings have step-free access, with gender-neutral and accessible toilets
