What does leather mean to you? What does it mean to build a community around it?
Glasgow Leatherdykes are a trans-led group who run lesbian bar nights and bootblacking circles. This session explores queer history, leathercare and bootblacking, and the structure that has developed around these practices. They present a history of leatherdyke spaces, before giving attendees a chnace to learn some techniques themselves.
Trans Masc Studies: The Del LaGrace Volcano Archive

Join Trans Masc Studies’ Ellis Jackson Kroese for a deep dive into the film archive of Del LaGrace Volcano, screening a selection of works exploring queer identity, BDSM culture, and embodied politics. Bringing together documentary footage, experimental film, and archival material, the screening traces Volcano’s influential role within queer and trans visual culture across several decades.
In this joint screening and in-conversation between the two artists, Jackson Kroese weaves Volcano’s work into their ongoing practice of preserving and activating trans histories, considering the archive as a living site of memory, community, and resistance. The event will open space for reflection on how queer and trans lives are documented, shared, and sustained through moving image practices.
Remi Graves: Making Objects Speak

Poet Remi Graves leads a writing workshop exploring the narrative and symbolic potential of objects. Inspired by the artefacts on display in History is A Home the workshop will encourage participants to draw out the memories, symbolisms and possible future lives of objects they hold dear. We’ll lean on texts from Remi’s book coal as well as work by other writers and contemporary artists to explore the lives of objects and where they might take us. Participants are encouraged to bring an object (or image of an object) with them.
