From 18–21 June, Brown’s of Leith will be open throughout Pride Edinburgh weekend, celebrating Scotland’s longest-running free festival of LGBTQIA+ communities and culture.
As a space that champions creativity, community and diverse voices, we’re delighted to host a special display of works from Queer Frontiers, an interdisciplinary exhibition originally developed for Architecture Fringe 2025 by Kirsty Watt, Samuel Stair and Andy Summers.
Queer Frontiers explored how queerness might be understood beyond aesthetics and identity categories, instead proposing it as a way of thinking, questioning and imagining. Bringing together architects, engineers, landscape architects, students and makers from across Scotland, the exhibition showcased a rich range of work spanning speculative design, illustration, film, craft and research.
For Pride weekend, four works from the exhibition will be on display at Brown’s of Leith, accompanied by reflections from the contributors on how their practice engages with queerness and how these ideas extend beyond visual representation. The display offers an opportunity to engage with perspectives that challenge convention, celebrate difference and invite new ways of seeing the built environment.

We’re also excited to welcome DJ Miss Mixtape, who will be providing the soundtrack to Pride celebrations on Friday and Saturday from 4–8pm, bringing an uplifting mix of music to the space as the festivities continue into the evening.
Joining us throughout the weekend, Argonaut Books will present a curated selection of queer literature and stories by members of the LGBTQIA+ community through a great range of books that celebrate and reflect the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ experience.
