Wringing it Out

Isabel McCabe’s work is situated in themes of culture, habits and tradition in social situations. By using found sitters, observational situations and chances meetings she creates honest and intimate portraits and documents subcultures on 35mm film.

The first series follows a under 13s’ boxing tournament held over a weekend at Rafael Trejo, the oldest boxing gym in Havana. Where as the second offers portraits from travels in Mexico, Cuba and India.
