Agnes Jones is an Edinburgh-based sculptor whose work translates the immediacy of line drawing into steel. Her practice transforms this solid, industrial material into something that feels light, gestural, and almost as if it has been sketched directly into the air.
This exhibition focuses on drawing people and objects in situ — figures in their own environments, reclining on sofas, sharing tea or coffee, inhabiting spaces that quietly speak to who they are. It considers how location shapes presence, and how bodies and surroundings inform one another.
Here, the works are not isolated objects but part of a wider spatial conversation. Walls, columns, ceilings and plinths become active elements, framing and influencing how each figure is encountered. The exhibition invites us to reflect on how form is shaped by context, and how sculpture can sit within — and respond to — its environment.
