Dōr. is heading back to Edinburgh for the forth edition of Gathering — this time bringing together Brown’s of Leith, Atsushi Hasegawa, Woven and Rùda for a weekend of music, independent retail, art, design and good company.
Taking place at Brown’s of Leith on 19th and 20th of September, Common Ground brings together a collection of independent names from Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, creating a space to discover new work, meet old friends and spend a little time somewhere between retail, culture and a good night out.
At the centre of the evening is Atsushi Hasegawa, the Somerset-based Japanese DJ and creative whose work has been shaped by years spent in Paris. Known for his seamless five-hour sets played entirely on 7-inch records, Atsushi creates an eclectic musical cabinet de curiosités. Moving between hidden gems, diverse cultures and unexpected sounds.
Joining us is Rùda, the collaborative creative practice, gallery and studio based in St Boswells in the Scottish Borders. Founded by artists Phillippa Henley and Shaun Fagan, Rùda brings together sculpture, printmaking and textiles with a considered selection of art materials, homeware and gifts.
Our friends at Woven are back too. Based close in Brown’s of Leith, they won’t have far to travel. Expect their expertly blended whisky and plenty of good conversation throughout the gathering.
Dōr., Rùda and Woven will also be bringing retail to Brown’s of Leith, with the shop running throughout the evening on Friday 19 September and across the day on Sunday 20 September.
